The MESSAGGERO is a wine made from fine red berried vines, older than 70 years, such as primitivo (no DOP or IGP), grown in the plain of Manduria, precisely located along the coastal strip and kissed by the breezes coming from the sea Ionian, which significantly influence its structure and aromas, giving it this personality. All of these factors led Cantine Erario to think about starting a project, as ambitious as it is aimed at recovering the tradition of a wine with unique characteristics, a hallmark in the world.
Il Messaggero takes up that production philosophy anchored to the Mandurian wine and peasant tradition, which preferred structured wines with a significant alcohol content, but at the same time made pleasant and accessible to all thanks to the presence of residual sugars. Being able to update a wine with ancient characteristics to the modern logic of the market is the Mission that Cantine Erario aims to achieve by combining innovation with tradition and love for their land.

Long temperaturecontrolled fermentation, long maceration and micro-oxygenation, with an alcohol content of 19%. 12 months’ ageing in steel, a passage in oak barriques and eight months in the bottle.

Tannins of outstanding character and elegance, extraordinary balance due to high alcohol content.
